BRION DE LA TOUR, Louis
In the mid-eighteenth century, French mapmaking was at its peak. Brion de la Tour was one of its most prolific cartographers. This beautiful decorated little map of Africa south of the equator, elegantly surrounded by an ornate engraved uncoloured frame, is a fine example of the period.
