Tooley says: ‘A fine detailed map showing roads, springs, farms, river crossings, locations of native tribes etc. Covers an area from Uitenhage and Port Elizabeth to Great Kei River showing the divisions of Albany, Victoria, British Kaffraria and parts of Somerset, Craddock and Uitenhage. With inset map, bottom right of Southern Africa.’ Ref: Tooley, Guide to Maps of the African Continent, p.20. The copy that Tooley describes is dated 1848. This is the earlier 1847 edition.

Excellent condition. Closed tears on upper margin, not affecting image.
