A beautiful map of America reduced from Merian’s earlier map of 1631. Decorative title cartouche in the bottom left-hand corner, galleons and sea monsters at sea. At top, there is an inset map of Greenland with accompanying text in Latin. (Burden, P.D. “The mapping of North America” p320, Entry/ 251).

In fine condition but with slight darkening of the lower centre fold. Wash line mount size: 57 x 46 cms
