Detailed and attractive chart of Cork harbour, with inset map of continuation of the inlet as far as Cork. Silhouette of coastal approach along lower edge. Sandbanks, rhumb lines compass points and soundings. Title cartouche at left, dedicatory cartouche at right. The Great Britain Coasting Pilot was the result of the first systematic survey of British coastal waters, conducted by Capain Greenvile Collins. It took eight years to complete, and was used by the Royal Navy for navigating British waters for many years. This map was added to the 1760 edition. The charts are notable for both their accuracy and their charm.
Expert repairs to margins, centrefold. Very good condition.
