Dr. John Hill, actor, dramatist, botanist doctor and prolific author was one of the more colourful figures of eighteenth century London. His Eden, or a Complete Body of Gardening, was one of the most beautiful illustrated botanical books of its time.

Slight showthrough of text from verso. Waterstain at top edge not affecting plate. Very good condition.
