Beautiful engraving of St. Thomas’s Hospital, Southwark, looking west across three courtyards, with the tower of St. Thomas Church at right. Doctors in deep discussion stroll through the courtyards. St. Thomas Hospitalwas moved to its present site in Lambeth in 1859. The Old Operating Theatre and Herb Garret are still standing and open to the public.
