Sneed Park the Seat of Joseph Jackson

This print of Sneed Park, is a wonderful example of Johannes Kip's work. The house is rendered with great care and detail; and the formal gardens and orchards extending to the River Avon are illustrated with fullness. Ships ply the River Avon beyond. It was originally produced for the remarkable Britannia Illustrata before being published in Robert Atkyns’ The Ancient & Present State of Gloucestershire. A talented draughtsman & engraver, Johannes Kip (1653-1722) was a Dutchman who settled in England at the end of the 17th century.
