Proof Before Title of magnificent standing portrait of Queen Alexandra in full regalia by Luke Fildes, one of the most respected portrait painters of the late nineteenth century.The plate was engraved by Platt. Earlier in his career Fildes was an artist of social concern, and chosen by Charles Dickens to illustrate The Mystery of Edwin Drood.

India paper laid down on thicker paper with ample margins. Excellent condition.
