Interesting chart of the coastline of the Gulf of Siam by the famed French cartographer and hydrographer Jacques Nicholas Bellin. The map shows the coast from the Mekong delta to the Isle of Tioman, near the tip of the Malaysian Peninsula. Soundings and rhumblines criss-cross the map. At lower left there is an inset close up of part of the Malaysian coast.The accuracy of Bellin’s charts ensured that they were in use for many years.
