Clear and accurate map of the West Indies. The map includes much of the southern states of the US and the north of South America. John Cary was considered 'the most representative, able and prolific of English cartographers'. Tooley says, 'As an engraver he was elegant and exact with fine clear lettering and great delicacy of touch'.
