Handsome map of Japan and Korea, with note on the ‘Corean Archipelago’; in a note in lower right hand corner, quoting from ‘Captain Hall’s Voyage of Discovery to the West Coast of Korea’; Thomson, draws in a non-existent archipelago of islands to the west of Korea. Apart from this detail, the map is a broadly accurate depiction of one of the last areas of coastline in the world to be accurately charted. Title at upper centre.

Closed tear on left margin (1cm.). Very good condition.
