A pair of handsome circular hemisphere maps. The Southern Hemisphere map was made in the window of time after the coasts of all the southern landmasses had been explored, but before Antarctica had been discovered, so Australia and New Zealand are complete, but the South Pole is left blank. Thomson’s New General Atlas was one of the best produced atlases of the day. His ‘County Atlas of Scotland’ is generally considered the finest of its kind.
Some light offsetting. Very good condition.
