A beautifully engraved pair of maps, one showing the highest mountains, the other showing the longest rivers. The mountains plate is flanked by lists of mountains, the rivers plate has a table listing the rivers by continent. The New General Atlas was one of the most accurate and best produced atlases of the day. Thomson’s ‘County Atlas of Scotland’ is generally considered the finest of its kind.
Some closed tears and neat repairs to margins but clean bright copies in very good condition.
