Two maps on one folio sheet, with North Africa (including the whole of the Sahara and West Africa) above, and South Africa (from the Orange river south to the Cape below). Both maps have a wealth of detail about routes of trade and exploration. The south Africa map divides the Cape into four districts and shows Mr Campbell’s routes to and from Cape Town. The New General Atlas was one of the most accurate and best produced atlases of its day.
