The sea decorated with ships a sea monster and a compass rose. The Schenk and Valck families were closely linked by marriage. Most of their work consisted of revised and reworked plates originally by Jansson, Visscher, Sanson and others

The map has generous margins and is a fine, clean copy. However, shows signs of oxidisation along the Java coast, typical to maps with original colour
