Fascinating map of India and the south-east Asain mainland. Texts on the map give details about the Maldives, the interior of Ceylon, and the wealth of diamonds in the region. Pictorial cartouche at top right. Emmanuel Bowen was one of the leading English mapmakers of the eighteenth-century, and was unusual in that he was cartographer to both the French and English Royal Courts.
