Handsome map of Hesse, Germany, approximately, the land between Kassel and Frankfurt, the rivers Fulda and the Main. Text in Latin at lower left, title at upper right. Matthaus Quad was a German cartographer based in Cologne, which, at the time was the centre for German cartography. This map is from his Fascilus Geographicus. It was printed by Johannes Bussemacher.
Very good condition. Good margins. Forests rivers, the larger towns, and a few place-names outlined in brown, green and red.
