Handsome map of Holland, north to the right. Vignette portrait of ‘Philippus II’ at top right. Decorated title cartouche at upper left. Matthaus Quad was a German cartographer based in Cologne, which, at the time was the centre for German cartography. This map is from his Fascilus Geographicus. It was printed by Johannes Bussemacher.
Very good condition. Good margins. Coastline and a few place-names outlined in brown and green.
