Four maps on one page. The Greenland map at top has texts warning that it is ‘dangerous of access because of floating and fixed mountains of ice’. There are soundings on the map of the Monk’s Rock whirlpool in the Faroes. Emmanuel Bowen was one of the leading English mapmakers of the eighteenth-century, and was cartographer to both the French and English Royal Courts.
