Finely engraved map of China and eastern Asia, from the Caspian Sea to Japan. The north east of Asia is very fancifully depicted, with short texts on the areas of the map that were unknown. The area was not accurately mapped until one hundred years after this map was made. The map was engraved by the distinguished Amsterdam engraver Jan l’Huilier, who also engraved maps for Sanson and Du Val.

Fair condition. Two tears on the lower sides, and a split on the lower centrefold repaired.
