This magnificent print is an unusual example of early printed colour. It was published in Alexandre Laborde's 'Description d'un Pave en Mosaique'. This book documented the discovery of a mosaic floor of a Roman villa, found in the village of Santiponce near Seville. The print shows a central section of the floor as it was discovered, with some parts missing.

Very good condition. Good wide margins. Light spotting on margins.
