Four magnificent prints of the Battle of Trafalgar, at various stages. Two prints, from before the battle, show the Van and Rear divisions approaching battle. Plate 3 shows a scene ‘nearly at the close of action’, with the French ships trying to escape and Plate 4, at the end of the battle shows the ‘tenders of the British fleet saving their conquered enemies from the flames of their own Vessel’. The prints are dedicated to Horatio Nelson; below Plates 1 & 2 is written: ‘To my Country Men, these Prints, descriptive of the ever memorable attack on the combined Fleets of France and Spain by the British fleet under the Command of the Illustrious Lord Nelson, as a monument and tribute to his Memory is with greatest deference submitted - By Their Humble Obedient Servant Robt. Dodd.’ Priced as a set of four.
