Decorative map of the ancient Roman Empire's Germanic region between the Danube River and the Adriatic Sea. The area is divided into the smaller tribes of the Vandals, Noricum (modern day Austria), Ermioni (in Greece), Ingaevones (North Sea Germans), Vindelicia (Northern Switzerland), and Alemanni. Illustrated title cartouche in bottom left. Antonio Zatta was one of the leading cartographers and publishers of the time, and his distinctive and elegant 'Atlante Novissimo' was one of the most beautifully produced of 18th century atlases.
