SEDUNUM. Sitten.

A very picturesque view of the city of Sion, entitled here at the top centre with its Roman name ‘Sedunum’ as well as its German one ‘Sitten’, between these two names is a coat of arms. Two castle-crowned crags tower over the city and mountain ranges dominate the background. In the bottom centre is a compass, and below that, running along the bottom of the picture is a key to the principle buildings which are picked out within the view by letters.
