An urban scene in what looks to be an Italian piazza. Groups of people sit and stand chatting together, amongst partially ruined classical buildings and monuments. From the Liber Veritatis (Book of Life) Series, which was Earlom’s most famous production for Boydell, consisting of over 200 sepia prints after the noted landscape artist, Claude le Lorrain.

Fine condition. Handmade goldleaf frame with a washline mount. Framed size: 50 x 46 cm (19.75 x 18 inches)
