A stunning map of Persia. Characteristically for Speed, the map is bordered by four city views surrounding the title at the top (of Spaha, Ormus, Tarvis and Gilan) and pictures of four typical inhabitants down each side. Scale and explanatory notes in decorative cartouche in bottom right corner. In the Caspian sea in the top left corner is information about the sea, including the different names by which it is known.
Very good condition, despite slight wear to bottom of centrefold. Mounted size: 66.5 x 55.5 cm.
