CARTE DE L’ISLE DE CEYLAN

Delisle was an important French cartographer of the early 18th century. He held the position of First Royal Geographer to the King. This is a detailed map of Ceylon (now Sri Lanka). A decorative cartouche lower left and also round the scale top right. Part of India also shown top left. The relief and borders of the island are clearly shown. Indian ocean to the south and the Golf of Bengal in the east.

Good condition - some offsetting. Margins have a few small dark patches. Minor brown spots on image.
