Guilliame Delisle (1675-1726) is important as the first "scientific" cartographer who incorporated the most current information on exploration and topography into his maps. He adopted entirely new principles in cartography and set about making a thorough reform in that subject. Delisle recognized that the new methods of measuring by scale and of marking the places were very valuable for cartography; with this help he therefore produced a new and more accurate picture of the world.A beautiful map of Hungary, extending from southern parts of Germany, Poland, Moscovy and Ukraine in the north to north Albania, Greece and Romania in the south.
