Clear and accurate map of the north-east of the United States, before Maine was a state- it is marked as a vague ‘district’ to the north. Three scales and title at lower right. John Cary was considered 'the most representative, able and prolific of English cartographers'. Tooley says, 'As an engraver he was elegant and exact with fine clear lettering and great delicacy of touch'.
Very good condition; slightly darkened at centrefold; very light offsetting.
