Very colorful map of Italy, Sicily, Corsica and Sardinia includes the Gulf of Venice & the coast of Dalmatia down to Albania & the Ionian Sea. The map is covered with place names & depicts Mt. Etna in Sicily and all the major cities & towns including Naples, Rome, Pisa and Florence & the Island of Elba offshore, Around the coast is the Sea of Provence (France), the Sea of Genoa (Italy), the Sea of Tuscany & the Sea of Naples on Italy's western coasts. The title in top right is in a decorative cartouche ornamented with scrolls, flowers and leaf motifs. The map was drawn & engraved by Richard Wilson Seale (fl.1732-1773) for “The History of England” Written in French by Mr. Rapin de Thoyras. Translated into English with Additional Notes by N. Tindal. M.A. the Vicar of Great Waltham in Essex, England.This is a very attractive map with excellent detail.
